Zeit Online 04/25

Editorial illustrations for the ZEIT Online article ‘I can't walk through the streets alone’, investigating what is it like to live amidst AfD supporters, racist resentment, and fear of attacks in East Germany. The article is based on conversations with 40 people from the region who shared their experiences with Die Zeit’s reporters. The brief was to create nine illustrations in total visualising individual accounts, alongside additional images interpreting broader themes of the article such as isolation, migration and rising societal tensions.
